The chairman of the Dubai Arbitration Center Habib Al Mulla was appointed to this post by a decree from the Ruler of Dubai, which makes the center not independent just like the court system in Dubai is not independent and prone to pressure from the executive branch.

It is also very well known that the previous General Manager of the Dubai Arbirtation center Dr. Talhuni had resigned from his position in a general meeting because of the chairman Al Mulla who had asked him not to follow the due proceeses which are suppose to be followed.
