Yes ATE providers and Credit Hire Companies have historically bumped up the cost of claims, but they are part of the insurance industry, nothing to do with Claimants or their lawyers. When I had an RTA in about 2010 it was my own insurer that contacted the credit hire company as I wasn't covered for a courtesy car - I did think it was all rather corrupt and extortionate then, and asked a lot of questions about recoverability, but I was persuaded (by my own insurers, Aviva) that it was all fine. That's the insurance industry for you. Totally corrupt and extortionate.
