Well, Anon 9.46 if you google "calculez mes indemnisations suite a un accident de voiture" you will find numerous sites which will work out for you what you will receive. Generally they are less 'generous' than the damages paid here in UK, their taxes are much higher than here (got to fund the 10%+ unemployed somehow)and their care has to be paid in part by private insurance. If someone goes into a care home and his money runs out...the obligation to pay the care home fees passes to his family. And when he dies they can also inherit his debts.

(BTW those sites I mentioned will usually translate into English so you can work through the calculations yourself.)
