My car was vandalised. My insurers told me to use a repairer of their choice. I obtained a quote. I then obtained another quote from a different repairer. It was lower. I argued with the insurers who reluctantly agreed to let me go with the lower quote.
I received an angry telephone call from the insurer's nominated repairer who had lost the business complaining that he had already paid the commission for receiving the job, and was now out of pocket.
Says it all.
