Well put. As I said in a post related to this topic, regardless of the merits of the decision about the discount rate, the decision was technically correct. The insurers are circumventing legal and parliamentary process and seek to bully the Chancellor, who appears to have caved in without any attempt at resistance. All concerned should be ashamed. Our legal and parliamentary system is a complete sham if this sort of behaviour has such influence.
