With the only effective opposition being on the Government benches let us hope that the Committee stages and their Lordships inject some much needed sanity into this dogs breakfast of a Bill.

While I find it hard to suppress the schadenfreude in watching Labour's self immolation the more mature part of me (measured in nano meters at times) we need effective Parliamentary opposition now more than ever before.
