Unfortunately there has never been and never will be realised a grand unified therory of the legal profession. The needs,aims, aspirations, interests and diversity within the law can be diced in so many ways. Perhaps increasingly in the public perception the term 'lawyer' is becoming as generically broad and ill-defined as say an 'engineer'. Excelling in an exam is no indication of where someone will end up or fit in to the profession.
