Anon 03.37 you have summed up perfecctly what I was trying to say but did not get across. I accept the need for the profession to be regulated but application must be fair and consistent and indeed logical. I cannot for example see the need for the SRA to prosecute either Anup Shah or Donna Cannon in order to protect the public or the profession. If anything Donna Cannon has shown herself to be the sort of solicitor that I would want to instruct if I had a problem in view of the fearless manner in which she has conducted herself in her dealings with the SRA. As someone I once worked with said if you can't take care of your own interest, why should a client trust you to take care of theirs.
