Agree with Russell, it was much less stressful in the days of snail mail.

It used to be 28 days between exchange and completion, litigation proceeded very much at the pace desired by the parties, and we had long leisurely and alcoholic lunches (both with clients and colleagues).

No legal aid audits, no appraisals, no COFA's and COLP's - and no SRA!

I reckon it started to change circa 1999 when most firms upgraded their IT for the Year2000 bug and then e-mail became much more prevalent.
