Tokens of gratitude from grateful clients are always welcome. Of course we enter them in the firms "Gifts received Book". A nice bottle of wine is always welcome, not so the client (who kept chickens), learning that I had roses in my garden presented me with 2 substantial black bin liners of chicken poo. Not so good. The most poignant was a lady who insisted on taking me out to lunch at the end of her case. She had not been out to lunch for some 20 years and only had £5.00 with her which did not settle the bill.....
