The ABI do have a bloody cheek! They do nothing but prevaricate for 16 years and when the discount rate is finally reviewed despite their apparent best efforts they now want the system to be changed because the tables have been turned against them. What on earth do you think we claimant lawyers have been urging for so long?

For the sake of simplicity I would propose that we invest a claimant's damages in HM Treasury and use the court interest rate of 8%. That money can then compound over time. The taxpayer in theory benefits too.
