Having been treated as a criminal by an insurer following a disasterous holiday when I was injured in bed at 7.30am on our first full day by falling plaster and masonary from a kangol drill that came through our hotel room wall, and ended up having to be flown home, I have absolutely no time whatsoever for these complaints from the insurance industry. I was even threateded with a report to the Law Society (their words) in the first few weeks following the insurers being notified, in respect of what I was told was my clearly fraudulent claim ! When a solicitor is faced with this nonsense, what chance the man in the street ?

Get your own house in order first insurers, and perhaps you might get a more sympathetic ear.

I was reminded at the time of a claim in an advert for a certain insurer some years ago: "We won't make a drama out of a crisis . . . " What a joke.
