Another thoughtful article John!

These proposals appear to sound the death knell of what survives of our profession, and indeed will irreparably damage “the brand”.

It is so depressing that while the Law Society has been looking inwards on matters of governance, the SRA has been deciding in camera to hollow out our profession to such a destructive extent.

Even now it might not be too late, but unless the Council of the Law Society or the new Main Board suddenly become uncharacteristically agile and responsive to the dangers which now face solicitors, we are in the words of a certain well known corporal doomed!
