'The SRA’s role is to regulate solicitors to ensure consumers are protected' Sorry but from my experience your regulator does not do what you pay them for, neither does the legal ombudsman nor the ICO and legal aid had been a mess for a long time. Consumers are not protected on any level has been my experience. The solicitor, or was it the fee earner, thought I had asked her to investigate child sexual abuse and ran the case as such leaving me knee deep in problems. The solicitor is guilty of extreme lack of care and yet the SRA, even in the face of solid evidence decided that the solicitor was an innocent bystander. When I went to the complaints policy I found I was sent around and around in circles and gave up. I write about my experiences as a way of expelling the extreme humiliation and anger I feel, this works for a time, until I read the SRA are still masquerading as the consumers best friend. I would take Jordans Child Abuse Solicitors up on their promise of support and access to psychological professionals but alas this also went up in a puff of smoke, illusion, as is your SRA . Sorry but your SRA charge you for doing nothing when push comes to shove. All their promises left me bereft, they mean nothing. They are 'looking at' my case again, I do not expect any of my complaints to come under their 'de-regulated' system. Did the heat in the kitchen become too much for them I would be asking.
