Anon at 14:35 If for every defendant who said I was moving at crawling pace (inference if you were moving so slowly you would not have collided) to the drink driver who 'has only had a half' but blows 42, the person who pleads self defence but hits the other chap 25 times I had a few quid I'd be long since retired.

My car was recently hit in the rear, from the outset the thing looked fine, but the whole subfloor was deformed and it cost £9.5k to repair, the driver of course was 'moving at a snails pace'.

So please, do not confuse the plural of anecdote with data and do not be surprised when we do not take your anecdotes as accurate.
