I am disappointed that the President of the Law Society is taking sides so openly in this. He must be aware that there is an alternative view that the EU is not the best guarantor of rights and that the state of our democracy and the rule of law will be enhanced not diminished by our leaving. For many of us the EU does not represent 'hard won rights' but high handed arbitrary rule from unaccountable undemocratic foreign institutions.
