My son asked me some four years ago to look around a new housing estate where he was thinking of buying a house. In the show house it was made apparent that as a buyer he would have to instruct the builder's tame solicitor and that if the purchase was to take place my firm could not act. Also there was to be a compulsory interview with a particular financial adviser.Any wonder these things happen?
