Igi, I think you may have nailed why the public sometimes don't understand what we do, in many cases we can be overly pedantic and picky. I would guess most people (lay and legal) understand what Beth Rudolf meant. Poor communication (unnecessary use of legalease) is one of the highest reasons for complaints against lawyers. Like it or not, we are in the 21st century and are acting for clients who communicate mainly on social media, using as few words as possible. Remember the acronym KISS.
