I didn't see that one coming.

I note that "Unison claimed that the fees prevented thousands of employees, particularly those on low incomes, from getting justice". Could some of the same argument perhaps be used to oppose the ridiculous fees for issuing a county court claim? When even a chance at justice costs £10,000, the fact is there are many people who cannot afford justice.
