FT fixed costs need to increase significantly as at present there is no real incentive for defendants to make reasonable efforts to settle cases (obviously there will be those where D denies any liability at all and these will always be defended to trial: I'm talking about those that are always going to settle).

Equally we need to get rid of QWOCS to level the playing field to stop claims with poor merits proceeding through the system.

These reforms would go a long way to satisfying the needs / demands of the ABI
