On this issue of bundles and the cost of them I would just like to make these points:
- it is frankly unfair that when you have litigants in person on the other side, your client or usually you have to go to the expense of providing all of the bundles.
- often in the magistrates court in family cases you are expected to provide multiple bundles for all of the magistrates plus the other side, witnesses etc. If these are not collected swiftly from the court then the court simply destroys them. Such a waste of paper and photocopying costs.
- some courts require excessive bundling just for interlocutory applications eg in Family
Photocopying costs are enormous for small firms and disproportionately expensive for smaller firms. The sooner electronic filing and reading of bundles is introduced into Courts - will frankly the better!
