The last two occasions in court with a particular client, never mind the bundles, both the judges didn't read my client's witness statement. the second judge then told us we could not question our clients, the second judge in the 2nd hearing then, cut cross-examination by 40%.

It was not until the judgment that I knew that he could not have read my client's statement as the only reference to it he had got wrong, muddling two different people with his cursory glance. This case is now on its 2nd appeal having been sent back to the lower courts, and yet, in the second lower court hearing the judge, who cut the time by 40%, it appears, also ignored the appeal court's guidance and the second appeal is essentially the same as the first appeal.
