Weren't Lamborghinis involved in this tale at one point?

That aside, I agree with other comments that it is jolly odd that despite an inadequate audit trail as to what sort of decision it was, why it wasn't communicated to the rest of the council members, and why standing orders were waived, there was no need for further action. There has also been cost to the council, as others have noted, even though the £300,000 has been repaid (subject to the possible preference point?).

It does all look rather too convenient!
