Re Anon @15.33 and his reference to Michael Sachs. He had a sense of fun and was good company although stern in his approach to behaviour (but not neccessarily his own). I had been taken on by Slater Heelis as the photocopier and had eventually been promoted to Junior litigation Clerk and worked my way up. I will never forget the day I met him and told him I had qualified as a solicitor. His reply was typical Michael "Bloody ell! They'll let anyone in these days"
Looking back to those days Michael was "dead right". The profession certainly lacks the morality it had when I joined in 1950.
