We could have all sorts of judicial deliberations on rubbish solicitor correspondence. There was a solicitor who replied to everything I wrote to him to say that what I said was extraordinary, even the most uncontroversial things. After about a year of this I asked him whether he was saying this just for effect or whether he did really find everything in the world around him extraordinary. He stopped. But the point is that I would never have dreamt of complaining about it. A bit of character makes my day. And as for rudeness? What the solicitor said was short (direct) and possibly rude but we are litigators after all. I far prefer rude and short to long and uncertain.
