I'm glad that this issue has been raised. I recently was sat in the Crown Court public galary waiting for my case to be called on. Whilst another case in progression I tried to quitely leave. The next thing I hear is that the judge shouting from the top of his voice for me to sit down. He did shout not just once but twice. I out of courtesy sat down and awaited until he finished his case. Matters got worse when he made me stand up and identify myself in the public galary. He then in front everyone reminded me the etiquette of the court. This really upset me as I had not contravened any etiquettes. I could not address him as I had some personal issues neither did he give me the opportunity to do so. Can judges be allowed to be rude, derogatory and belittle member of the profession.
