I agree, that a more loosened approach to advise and work i necessary. Most Solicitors get very little for holding on to voluminous files anyway (other than grief for losing fictitious documents, or for allegedly not preparing cases for Court properly by the Judiciary, or 'disclosure'). Market capture for larger firms? client 'retention'?

Two scenarios with litigation prep surely?:

1. Client is absolutely inept and not intelligent enough to deal with the paperwork and visit a Solicitor for disclosure and pre trial conference / statements on that disclosure, perhaps Legal Aid is warranted here.

2. Client is too lazy to do so. They can then pay premium rates for that idleness should they wish.

3. Everyone else can prepare their own cases and seek advice separately.
