It was very interesting reading all the comments yesterday about the news article. I found the comments extraordinary, in particular, “Anonymous” at 22:12 who suggested that I had been posting comments anonymously whereas I didn’t join in your debate. Funny how people hide behind “Anonymous” instead of having the strength of character to put their name to a rude comment.

What is clear from the comments is the vast majority of those writing have no understanding at all of Blockchain technology. However, rather than researching, understanding and then commenting, instead people launched into an attack mode which always indicates a defensive position. Quite bizarre. When Michael Cross contacted me to talk about clicktopurchase® and Blockchain, he will tell you that at no point did I criticise the legal profession and at no point did I try and “sell” our platform to solicitors. Many of you may be interested to hear that various solicitors contacted us yesterday as they were interested to learn more.

My discussion with Michael Cross revolved around a warning to solicitors to become aware of Blockchain and its implications for everyone. Clicktopurchase® just happens to be the first property business using it. For those who dismissed Blockchain out of hand, are they aware that the Land Registry has already started a project to implement Blockchain technology? Are they aware that the company Chromaway is well advanced to implementing Blockchain technology to the entire purchasing process in Sweden? Are they aware that Propy, a US based business has just raised £15m to enable it to offer a cross border, fast and easy transaction process facilitated by Blockchain? Are they aware that Amazon, Microsoft, etc are all now offering Blockchain solutions?

Are they aware that there is more interest in Blockchain than any other technology – go look! Some comments indicated that the writers thought I owned Blockchain! “Game Changer” is not from me but from numerous commentators worldwide. Blockchain has been described by many as more significant than the launch of the internet.

My suggestion, warning, to you all is that Blockchain is there to help you. If you take the trouble to learn and understand why it is so significant, you will fast appreciate its benefits to your profession. I would suggest that it is very dangerous to ignore but this is your risk. I’m not going to start trying to explain here and receive another tirade of negativity.

I think the negativity is borne out of ignorance and I am afraid those who have dismissed in such an extraordinarily aggressive fashion have just embarrassed themselves. You are all used to caveat emptor, “buyer beware”; maybe it’s appropriate for a new phrase “solicitor beware”.
