Having said that, I think the SRA has made the right decision on this occasion. Yes, others have been treated far more harshly, but I would sooner have the SRA show some leniency than have them stick rigidly to their own harsh precedents. ..."

I think I would have telephoned the client. I would then have taken a careful file note and read the contents to them. Then I would have explained that I was filing it without signature or signing on their behalf (if on the record in the latter case).

I am not sure that an application would have been in time?

The client could it is accepted deal with relief through a separate firm.
