e-conveyancing may well be back on the Gov`t agenda but I seem to recall a Law Society initiative - Veyo - which bombed recently costing the profession millions. Lawyers like to deal with conveyancing quickly; we only get paid at the conclusion of the matter and it is in our best interests to hurry the matter along as far as possible. Nevertheless there will always be delays in getting mortgages and with increased due diligence the delays may be getting longer. The Government consultation paper does however also refer to cutting the costs of the transaction and perhaps they may care to take a look at Estate Agents charges?
