Yes, a lot of material served electronically is searchable...if you know what search terms to use and what you’re looking for. You would also have to know every way that that term could be spelled in “txt spk” because it’s highly unlikely to be written in plain English!

I don’t think a client would be very happy if he was convicted after a solicitor missed a crucial text message as the government will only pay for searching the material and not considering all of it.
