I am confident that the Bar's direct access model will flourish and blossom in the 'gig' economy. It will (I hope), become a beacon of inspiring light shining brightly - for all Solicitors (especially those in England & Wales - and maybe also Scotland and Ireland). I (pray) that they will also be subject to the same level of regulatory rules, regulations, legislation and all manner of things (as are Solicitors). I think a good acronym for this model (to train the new generation of bright eyed law undergraduates) - should be DAM (meaning Direct Access Model). DAM in the 'gig'# economy.
