In Canada, where I practiced for seven years, the Courts issue an electronic pass card for all regular advocates, this reduces the line-up for access to the Court House; for everyone. We are after all 'Officers of the Court'.
On Tuesday this week I had my little pipe tool confiscated, no sharp edges etc; because the security chap had never seen one before. I now have to write to the Court Manager, who will ask the Police who will decide whether I can have my property back.
