Yet again, a regurgitated press release.
And it really is not ground-breaking.
The article says that "Keoghs’ intelligence team established social media links between occupants of both vehicles and later uncovered the parties were in fact next door neighbours." Most intelligence teams worth their salt would have discovered all of the facts at the same time!
And out of 20 claims bodged up through sloppy CNF drafting, only 1 was "brave" enough to issue and then the solicitors jumped ship post-allocation - perhaps immediately or prior to witness statement exchange.
And whilst the Claimant faced a subsequent indemnity costs order application, it was hardly going to be a challenging application when the Claimant didn't bother turning up and there is no actual confirmation that a FD finding was actually granted. It wouldn't have made any odds to the insurer anyway who just wanted some costs back.
