Is it just me or was the desire to simplify the rules and encourage LiP's one of the aims of the Woolf reforms?
After all who needs a lawyer to properly advance a case that may rest on a nicety of law in a case from 60 years ago?
All they need to do is quote Magna Carts and appeal to "common sense"!
The Judges and government have produced this situation, and reduced our legal system (once the envy of the world) to a pitiful shell of what it was, and no doubt it will only get worse. Delays longer, more and more denial of justice even where people can actually GET access to the system in the first place!
A sad state of affairs!
