Goodness CLACs and CLANs. That takes me back. What utterly pointless nonsense that was. The cuts to legal aid, the Police, Probation, CPS, Prison Officers and HMCTS are politically motivated by a Government that fails to see the value in properly resourcing the justice system and simply wants to spend less. The “value for taxpayers” rhetoric is a laughable deceit given the high level of borrowing which adversely affects tax payers through our own Greek-like model of an economy.
Put another way-they don’t give a damn-and nothing will make this Government invest in the justice systems properly.
Instead of babbling on about no fault divorce Lady Hale should address the issue of access to justice and highlight the mess and chaos this Government has created.
