If he had paid the fined would he have been disqualified?

I think more Directors ought to be disqualified, especially the ones the earn a fortune whilst bleeding their company dry then walk away with a nice big house and car, plenty of money in their husband/wife/partner's bank account, whilst their employees, working on low incomes to keep the profits high, are left out high n' dry with no jobs and nothing to show for their hard work except the dole queue.
