Firstly you will have cost the insurance company money in administrating your non fault claim until settlement, also you need to remember whilst your premium covers you who covers the potential passengers in your vehicle all of whom could have rightly claimed.
In regards to your comments about driverless cars its actually a godsend for insurers hence why they are so involved with this as they will insure the vehicle before it leaves the factory, so no uninsured drivers potentially in the future, its a win win situation for insurers sorry
