Bravo Judge Carey

I am sadly old enough to have been in practice in the 1970s in London, before the introduction of the single entrance security procedures at the RCJ in consequence of the IRA bombings, when getting in was simplicity itself through various entrances.

Of course I appreciate that in our current world, with terrorist and other threats to the Rule of Law, security procedures at Law Courts are a necessary evil. However, and while I would be the first to acknowledge there are notable exceptions, all too often these days, these appear to me to be haphazard, lamentably inadequate, and are as often as not conducted by individuals whose training one must call into doubt, but who are clearly flushed with their own sense of self importance and power.

Oh Brave New World . . . . . !
