A minority of costs lawyers/practices will survive, but the majority will struggle or have to find a new career (like me). The whole last 10+ years of change have been driven by ABI lobbying and LJ Jackson's ego. It seems clear that normal costs practitioners have had little or not input, or that their input was sought simply for show and never really taken into account. The budgeting process simply added work and therefore cost for little real value, and fixed costs have done away with 90+% of the work that practitioners like me relied upon. I'm off to a new career next year - I wish the very best of luck to those who hang on in the costs industry.
