All in all the rule of law is a good idea, but to sustain it requires the myth of a working justice system, established and permenant and steeped in traditions, alive and manifest in motifs and in the conduct and regulation of its personnel. Underlying this is the fundamental role of property and proprietary interests which dictate the play of a powerful fetishism, which becomes the enabling force at the Bar; at times even at the expense of reason and judicial objectivity.
