Now that the governance of the Law Society is to be shortly streamlined, I earnestly implore the new Board to recognise the deep concerns of solicitors over its regulator.

The regulatory and competition activism/fundamentalism apparent from the SRA’s actions, are crucifying the profession, and ironically may have unintended consequences.

Clients (not “consumers”) want an ethically grounded legal system, not “Laws ‘r’ Us”

The Law Society has, in another article, expressed concern about solicitors being left damaged post Brexit.

Ironically the greater danger in my view, is our own professional body, via its operationally independent regulator, purging the profession of its professionalism, by a steady series of destructive, competition obsessed anti-professional measures.
