From memory the SCCO is not considered to be chambers.

Simon, the difference is that Mr Carlisle is appearing other than the agent of a solicitor.

The 'protectionism' is there as a matter of public policy and public good, if Checkmylegalfees.com and Mr Carlisle are negligent and land the client with a hefty adverse costs order then that client is wholly without protection either in terms of regulatory protection or the SRA PII minimum terms.

Of course Mr Carlisle could come back and correct me and advise us what level of protection his clients have when he appears under the aegis of delegated authority of his employee.
