I have no problem with costs lawyers provided they practice within the law, are properly insured, are regulated by a body with sufficient disciplinary powers to correct matters and to compensate clients when things sometimes go wrong.

Exposing folk to this sort of stuff without funding in these obscure challenges in the High Court and way past the statutory time limits cannot be in that person’s best interests.

Perhaps Mr Carlisle and Mr Green can tell us what mechanisms are in place to pay adverse orders if one of the challenges goes wrong, and the innocent client is faced with an order through no fault of his or her own?

It seems the costs incurred to mount these claims are thousands of pounds only to secure some few papers.

And when the papers are found to be ‘in order’ no assessment then follows.

Would anybody like to speculate how many of these requests have been issued by Check My Legal and JG? How long do they take to respond to? I cannot not blame solicitors for finding it objectionable for the qualified and the unqualified in policing their respective conduct.

I cannot accept Mr Carlisle’s or Mr Green’s position that there are on a mission for good irrespective to how much that costs – this is mischief of the highest order and nauseatingly righteous.

That appears not protect the client from the costs of this trivial and, dare I say it, vexatious litigation.

Looks like a standard base costs builder for Check My Legal and JG – and nothing more.

True barrel scraping.
