We had a request for our file of papers from JG Solicitors on behalf of a client whom we had successfully represented following a RTA.

This client was now, over a year after successful completion of his claim purporting to be demanding his file of papers so that JG Solicitors could assess the 'viability' of an assessment of his bill; despite approving the same a year earlier.

it became apparent following a number of conversations with the client that he had absolutely no idea that he was pursuing a claim for assessment of his bill via the Solicitors Act.

The client in fact explicitly stated that he had been advised by Mr James Green's firm that they were recovering compensation relating to his personal injury claim through a "government scheme". Perhaps JG Solicitors can enlighten us all of this scheme.

Mr Green and his firm are clearly misleading clients as to the nature of the claim they are making.

I see that there has been a fierce round of rhetoric on behalf of the practices employed by Mr Green and his fellow barrel scrapers. However, the cat is well and truly out of the bag and no amount of PR and justification will overwrite the facts unearthed regarding Mr Green's shady practices

Surely time the SRA stepped in.
