I'm a solicitor and not a Tory, but honestly, whilst we all (should) admire Clement Attlee and his people the Labour Party has done almost nothing but hurt working people through their serial incompetence with money. Thatcher did a vast amount of harm through her monetary and housing policies, but Thatcher isn't the whole story. Benjamin Disraeli gave real democracy, David Cameron Gay Marriage and Winston Churchill cared for believed in and had faith in British people establishing the first national insurance and pensions - fighting the loony wing of the Tory Party in order to do so. Harold Macmillan built huge numbers of homes as did the Tory administrations of the 30s. Even Thatcher abolished discrimination in the law against illegitimate children. Sir Robert Peel abolished the Corn Laws so that people could eat. Nobody has the monopoly on good and bad - or has Jeremy told you otherwise?
