I think provided that the hypothetical person to whom you refer is up-front about their association with those other companies in all of their dealings, and they do not attempt to hide those links, then there are no issues. Even lawyers are permitted to have fingers in many pies, provided that no conflicts of interest arise.

If you are suggesting that you have specific concerns about an unnamed firm or partner of such, I am sure you will have reported your concerns to the SRA to allow them to investigate - much as insurance companies rightly do when they have evidence of potential wrongdoing.

Let's face it, we don't want to turn this into a conspiracy theory here.
