I concede that I didn’t consider vehicle damage; I’m sure you feel you have secured a little victory there. In fairness, I’m an EL PL solicitor so vehicle damage claims rarely feature in my case holding.

That said, the ignorance of the original poster’s assertion remains correct. Who is he to assert that an injured person doesn’t need compensation? The purpose of damages is to restore the injured person to his pre-accident position. Obviously this cannot be done literally but the courts have used money as an alternative throughout the history of England and Wales’ common law.

These reforms aren’t based on principle. It is merely the Tories pandering to big business at the expense of the public.
