I had a final hearing listed in ancillary relief proceedings with a time estimate of a day. The FDR was in June, but the final hearing date given was mid-January. Having waited seven months for the hearing, we were astonished to receive a telephone call at 4.15 pm the day before the hearing telling us that the hearing had been moved 40 miles away, making it a two hour journey each way to a court in another county. We were still meant to arrive at 9,00 am of course. Oh, and could we possibly take two more copies of the bundle with us "in case the bundles don't get there on time". So much for good administration by HMCTS. And in case you were wondering; no. No reason given for the change at all. Will HMCTS cover the additional copying charges, do you reckon??
