But don't insurers assume, as a matter of course, that every claimant is lying to them (by saying such as 'your insured drove into me', 'I was injured as a result of the accident', 'I have suffered loss', etc.) and thus do not all insurers have raised suspicions about claimants? If so, surely they are always within their rights to request data in the hope of avoiding having to meet a claim - sorry, I meant to say preventing and detecting fraud.
